Don’t buy a stairlift for a relative without talking to us first

These days, the most popular stair lift on the market is the straight stairlift. If your relative’s stairs have a straight run, with no bends, corners or half-landings, this will be ideal for them. Installing a straight stairlift is meat and drink to every manufacturer and can be carried out in about an hour. Straight stairlifts are also relatively inexpensive – compare around £1,500 to the £4,000+ it costs for a curved stairlift.
Straight stairlifts come with some great features, such as battery power with continuous charging and a swivel seat that rotates 90 degrees at the top and bottom of the stairs, locking into place for safety when getting on or off. There will also be adjustable seat height, safety sensors that stop the stairlift if it encounters an obstruction, and a hinged rail that keeps the doorways clear.
If you have straight stairs, a reconditioned straight stair lift is a great idea. Reconditioned stair lifts, with refurbished lifts and rails, are practically like buying a new straight stairlift. Your relative will get many years’ service from the stairlift and save about a third of the price of a new straight stairlift.
