Established in the 1990s, Dolphin Stairlifts has grown and now serves the whole of the UK, plus Ireland and Spain. Rob Edwards, the current Managing Director, and his wife founded the company after seeing an opportunity to set up an independent lift company in the disabled-access market.
The company’s name refers to its origins in Poole in Dorset. The stairlift manufacturer points out that it’s not connected with any other company. Each branch of Dolphin Stairlifts runs itself, based on high standards of service and customer care. The stair lift manufacturer is part of the community, which gives the firm an awareness of local needs and aspirations, and has allowed it to establish close relationships with local authorities.
As well as straight and curved stairlifts, Dolphin Stairlifts has also created a variety of mobility solutions. These include step lifts, through lifts, platform lifts, ramps, and porch and small passenger lifts.
Dolphin Stairlifts distributes access equipment for a range of manufacturers, and is constantly testing new equipment with a view to expanding the product offering.
Dolphin Stairlifts is set to widen its global reach, although it insists it will never move away from the ‘family feel’ of the business.
