Style and Comfort

The ergonomically designed chair offers superb support to the back and can be upholstered in either a comfortable fabric or soft leather.  The fabric and leather is available in a range of colours to help blend the stair lift seamlessly with your home.

The seat has a swivel action that allows the passenger to turn the seat to face the landing when alighting at the top of the stairs.  A powered swivel can be added if you wish, which allows the seat to turn both ways, at additional cost.  The seat height can also be adjusted to get the perfect ride height and make it easier for the passenger to get on and off the stairlift.

When you have finished using the stair lift it can be folded away in one simple movement using the Stannah ‘one step folding’ system.  Simply raise the armrest and the seat and foot rest are folded way simultaneously.

Operate From Anywhere

The Solus can be operated from either on or off the chair.  When you are seated on the stairlift, the easy to use control is simply moved left or right depending on whether you wish to ascend or descend the stairs.  The control can be fitted to either arm and can be raised and lowered to get it in the most natural position for the passenger.  When you are off the lift you can operate it from the top or bottom of the staircase using the wall mounted controls.

Keeping You Safe

The stair lift will only move when you are safely aboard – Stannah’s unique seat load sensor detects when you are in place and allows the lift to begin its ascent or descent.  The seat belt on the Solus can be fastened with one hand and keeps you secure as the stairlift moves.

If the stairlift should meet an object on the stairs, in-built sensors in the foot rest and carriage detect it and stop the lift.  You can disable the Solus when it is not in use by a simple twist of the key switch, which is located on the arm rest.
