Sofia Straight Stair lift

The Sofia stairlift for straight stairs has been designed by Stannah in conjunction with their customers.  It is a modern, comfortable lift built with users in mind.

The Stairlift chair and Rails

The large chair looks more like a favorite armchair than a stair lift and provides the passenger with a supported, relaxing ride up and down the stairs.  The chair can be upholstered in either vinyl or soft fabric, available in a range of colours.

The rail that the stair lift runs on is also available in a choice of two different finishes, bronze and silver.

Stairlift Controls

The stairlift is operated by an easy to use control the user pushes left or right.  The controls can be situated on either the right or left arm depending on user preference, and the height of the control can be adjusted, again, to make them as comfortable to use as possible.

When you are not on the lift, it can be called or sent using the controls installed at the top and bottom of the stairs.

When not in use the Sofia can be disabled using a key switch.  You can also fold the stair lift to save valuable space.  The Sofia has a great mechanism for doing this – one step folding.  Just pull up the arm rest and the foot rest and seat are folded away at the same time.

Further safety features include a seat belt and sensors under the seat and in the carriage that detect when the passenger is properly seated and if there is anything blocking the stairs.
