Mobility Advice Line

UK Stairlifts have recently lent our support to Mobility Advice Line.

Mobility Advice line or MAL (for short), is a charity based in Edgbaston, Birmingham. They provide Disabled callers with confidential, impartial advice on mobility related issues, free of charge.

About Mobility Advice Line

Mobility Advice Line (MAL for short) was founded in 1993 by Andy Whyment when he found it hard to get the information on access, motoring and adaptations he needed as a wheelchair user.

MAL is now under the stewardship of Bryn Tudor, as Andy passed away in 1996. Bryn is an experienced charity worker and is determined to continue the work Andy started, providing disabled people and their family, friends and carers with valuable information.

The advice line primarily supports disabled callers in the West Midlands area but they regularly receive call from all over the country.

How can MAL help?

MAL operators will always try to find the answer to any question a caller may have but they specialise in offering advice on wheelchairs, scooters, the Blue Badge (or Orange Badge as once was) scheme, benefits such as Disability Living Allowance, Carers Allowance, Council Tax, Housing Benefit and many more, including unfair Bank charges.

Callers can book an appointment to have an advisor visit them in their home, if they prefer, to discuss any issues they may have.

Mobility Advice Line is available from 11am until 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday on 0121 454 2331 or on email – enquiries@mobility-advice.org.uk
